[...] The camp can be reached by a 2-hour drive off the central road which runs between the capital Antananarivo and Tulear in the south west. The Route Nationale 7 (RN 7) is a tarred road connecting Antananarivo with Tulear (Toliary) over a distance of 950km. Between Ambalabavo and Ihosy you find the small road to the camp. Just watch out for the sign near the Tanambao or Antanambao village. It is about 25km from the RN 7 to the camp along the small road. After you passed the Vohitsoaka village the track is difficult and requires a 4-wheel drive vehicle. The short distance of 10km between the village of Vohitsoaka and Tsara Camp takes about one hour and 15 minutes. However, the view of the Andringitra Mountains and Tsaranoro Mountain will award you for the bone-shaking ride. In case you don’t have a 4WD, Tsara Camp can pick you up in the nearby vollage Vohitsoaka. Our truck is stationed at the camp and can transport up to 20 passengers with luggage.
